In the Name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful
Imam al-Nawawi records in his book Meadows of the Righteous:
Chapter on the description of the length of the shirt, sleeve, lower garment, and the end of the turban, and the prohibition of letting any of these hang down out of arrogance, and the undesirability of it without arrogance, and recommandation to humbly avoid snobbery in clothing.

Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Whoever trails his garment in vanity, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.
Abu Bakr said, “One of my robes slides down unless I am cautious about it.” The Prophet said:
You are not doing it in vanity.

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Allah will not look on the Day of Resurrection at one who trailed his garment in vanity.

In another narration, the Prophet said:
Whatever part of the garment is below the two ankles is in the Hellfire.

Abu Dharr reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
There are three to whom Allah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection: one who does not give anything in charity unless his generosity is praised, a hypocrite who sells goods upon a false oath, and one who trails his garment in pride.

Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Draping is in regards to the robe, shirt, and turban. Whoever trails any of them in pride, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.

Jabir ibn Sulaym reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Do not hold in contempt any small act of goodness, because even speaking to your brother with a cheerful face is an act of goodness. Hold up your lower garment halfway to the leg and at least above the ankles, for trailing it is arrogance and Allah dislikes pride.

Abu Huraira reported: While a man was praying with his garment draped below himself, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Go and perform ablution again.
The man went and performed ablution, then he came to the Prophet. The Prophet said:
Go and perform ablution again.
The man went and performed ablution, then he came back to the Prophet. Another man said to him, “O Messenger of Allah, why did you order him to perform ablution again?” The Prophet said:
Verily, he was praying with his garment draped below himself. Allah Almighty does not accept the prayer of a man who drapes his garment.

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
The garment of a Muslim should be lowered to the middle of the shin, but there is no harm or blame in what is between it and the ankles. Whatever is lower than the ankles is in the Hellfire. Whoever trails his garment in pride, Allah will never look at him.

Imam al-Azimabadi commented:
This tradition provides evidence that it is recommended for a Muslim man’s garment be lowered midway between the shins and that it is permissible, without being discouraged, to lower it even further to the ankles.

Ibn Umar reported: I passed by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while my garment was falling. The Prophet said:
O Abdullah, raise your garment.
I raised it up, then the Prophet said:
More.
I raised it again and I kept pulling it up until some people said, “To where?” The Prophet said:
Halfway between the shins.

Umm Salamah said, “What should women do with their hems?” The Prophet said:
Slacken them by a handspan.
She said, “Then their feet would be exposed.” The Prophet said:
Then slacken them by a forearms’ length and no more.

Mu’adh ibn Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Whoever gives up fine clothes due to humility for the sake of Allah, even though he is able to wear them, then Allah will call him on the Day of Resurrection in front of all creation that he may choose any garment of faith he desires to wear.
