In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Al-Nawawi recorded in his book Riyad us Saliheen:
Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Whoever blesses me once will be blessed by Allah ten times.

Ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
The closest of the people to me on the Day of Resurrection are those who most often invoked blessings upon me.

Aws ibn Aws reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Verily, the most virtuous of your days is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he died, on it the trumpet will be blown and the shout will be made, so increase your supplications for me for indeed your supplications are presented to me.
They said, “O Messenger of Allah, how will our supplications reach you once you have decayed?” He said:
Verily, Allah the Exalted has forbidden the bodies of the prophets from decaying.

May the face be dusted of a man in whose presence I am mentioned but he does not supplicate for me.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Do not make your homes into graves, and do not make my grave into a place of celebration. Send blessings upon me, for indeed, your blessings will reach me wherever you are.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
There are none of you who send peace upon me except that Allah returns my spirit so that I can return his greeting of peace.

The miser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not supplicate on my behalf.

Fadalah ibn Ubaid reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, heard a man supplicating in his prayer but he did not find him glorifying Allah the Exalted or invoking blessings upon the Prophet. The Messenger of Allah said:
This man has rushed.
Then the Prophet called him over and he said to him:
When one of you prays, let him begin by glorifying his Lord the Almighty with praises and then with supplications for the Prophet, and then you may supplicate for whatever you wish.

Say: O Allah, sanctify Muhammad and the family of Muhammad just as you have sanctified Abraham and the family of Abraham. Verily, You are praiseworthy and glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad just as you have blessed Abraham and the family of Abraham. Verily, You are praiseworthy and glorious.

Bashir ibn Sa’d said to him, “Allah has commanded us to supplicate for you, O Messenger of Allah, but how should we supplicate for you?” The Messenger of Allah remained silent until we wished he had not asked him. He said:
Say: O Allah, sanctify Muhammad and the family of Muhammad just as you have sanctified Abraham and the family of Abraham. Verily, You are praiseworthy and glorious. Say: O Allah, sanctify Muhammad and his wives and his children just as you have sanctified the family of Abraham. O Allah, bless Muhammad and his wives and his children just as You have blessed the family of Abraham. Indeed, You are the glorious and majestic.
