In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Al-Nawawi records in his book Riyad us-Saliheen:
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Shall I not inform you about the False Messiah which no prophet has told his people? Verily, he is blind in one eye and he will come with the likeness of paradise and fire. That which he calls paradise is actually fire, and that which he calls fire is actually paradise. Verily, I have warned you just as Noah has warned his people.

Abu Mas’ud Al-Ansari reported: I came with Uqbah ibn Amr to Hudhaifa ibn Al-Yaman and Uqbah said, “Tell us what you have heard about the False Messiah from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.” Hudhaifa said:
Verily, the False Messiah will appear and will have with him water and fire. What the people see to be water is actually burning fire, and what the people see to be fire is actually cool water. So whoever among you sees that should jump into what appears to be fire, for it will be sweet water.

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
There is no land that will be safe from the False Messiah except for Mecca and Medina. There is no passage leading to them except it will be guarded by the angels arranged in ranks. The False Messiah will appear in a barren place next to Medina and the city will be shaken three times. Allah will expel from it every unbeliever and hypocrite.

Al-Mughira ibn Shu’bah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the False Messiah more than anything else. The Prophet said to me:

O my son, why are you worrying about him? He will not harm you.
I said, “Indeed, the people will think that he has with him flowing rivers and mountains of bread.” The Prophet said:
He is too insignificant with Allah for him to deceive the believers.
