Hadith on Trade: The Prophet does business with Jews

Aisha reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away while his armor was mortgaged to a Jew for thirty portions of barley.

Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim

Imam Ibn al-Malak commented, “This is evidence for the permissibility of dealing with the people of covenants, even if their wealth is not free of usury or earnings from wine.”
