Hadith on Ikhtilaf: Companions interpret the Prophet’s order differently

Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, made an announcement on the day he returned from the Confederates, saying, “No one will pray his noon prayer unless he is among the tribe of Qurayzah.” Some people feared that the time for prayer would expire, so they performed their prayers before reaching Qurayzah. Others said, “We will only perform our prayer where the Prophet has ordered us to pray, even if the time expires.” When the Prophet heard this, he did not rebuke anyone from the two groups.
