Samurah ibn Jundab reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Clothe yourselves in white. Verily, it is cleaner and purer, and you should shroud your dead in it.”
In another narration, the Prophet said, “Verily, it is the best of your garments.”

عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدَبٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَسُوا الْبَيَاضَ فَإِنَّهَا أَطْهَرُ وَأَطْيَبُ وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ
وفي رواية أخرى قال إِنَّهَا مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمْ
