Hadith on Amulets: Good luck charms only bring harm

‘Imran ibn Husayn reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, noticed a man was wearing a brass ring as a charm. The Prophet said, “Woe to you! What is this?” The man said, “It is protection from arthritis.” The Prophet said, “Remove it, for it will only add to your arthritis. If you died while wearing it, you would never succeed.

عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبْصَرَ عَلَى عَضُدِ رَجُلٍ حَلْقَةً أُرَاهُ قَالَ مِنْ صُفْرٍ فَقَالَ وَيْحَكَ مَا هَذِهِ قَالَ مِنْ الْوَاهِنَةِ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهَا لَا تَزِيدُكَ إِلَّا وَهْنًا انْبِذْهَا عَنْكَ فَإِنَّكَ لَوْ مِتَّ وَهِيَ عَلَيْكَ مَا أَفْلَحْتَ أَبَدًا
