Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would observe continuous fasting during the month of Ramadan and so did the people, but he prohibited them. It was said, “You are continuously fasting.” The Prophet said, “Verily, I am not like you, for I am supplied with food and drink from Allah.”
