Al-Sharid ibn Suwayd reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever kills so much as a sparrow unjustly, it will plead to Allah on the Day of Resurrection, saying: O Lord, he killed me unjustly, and he did not kill me for any beneficial purpose!”

عَنْ الشَّرِيدِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ قَتَلَ عُصْفُورًا عَبَثًا عَجَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ فُلَانًا قَتَلَنِي عَبَثًا وَلَمْ يَقْتُلْنِي مَنْفَعَةً
