Hadith on Customs: The Prophet’s seal for letters to world leaders

Anas ibn Malik reported: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, intended to write to the Romans, it was said to him, “Indeed, foreigners will not read a letter unless it has a seal.” The Prophet took silver a ring for himself. I remember it as if I were looking at it in the Prophet’s hand, on it was engraved: Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah.
