Hadith on Court: The Prophet judges cases like any human being

Umm Salamah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, heard some people disputing near the door of his house. The Prophet came out and said, “Verily, I am only a human being. Two opponents come to me for judgment and perhaps some of you are more articulate than others, so I consider him truthful and by that I judge in his favor. For whomever I mistakenly forfeit the right of a Muslim, it is only a piece of Hellfire; let him take it or leave it.

عن أُم سَلَمَة عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ خُصُومَةً بِبَابِ حُجْرَتِهِ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ وَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِينِي الْخَصْمُ فَلَعَلَّ بَعْضَكُمْ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَبْلَغَ مِنْ بَعْضٍ فَأَحْسِبُ أَنَّهُ صَدَقَ فَأَقْضِيَ لَهُ بِذَلِكَ فَمَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ بِحَقِّ مُسْلِمٍ فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ قِطْعَةٌ مِنْ النَّارِ فَلْيَأْخُذْهَا أَوْ فَلْيَتْرُكْهَا
