Hadith on Joking: Do not take something from another person as a joke or otherwise

Abdullah ibn Sa’ib reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Let none of you take the goods of his companion as a joke or otherwise. If one of you has taken his companion’s staff, then return it to him.

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ‏ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ‏ لاَ يَأْخُذُ أَحَدُكُمْ مَتَاعَ صَاحِبِهِ لاَعِبًا وَلاَ جَادًّا فَإِذَا أَخَذَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَصَا صَاحِبِهِ فَلْيَرُدَّهَا إِلَيْهِ‏
