Hadith on Blessings: Dedicating supplications to bless the Prophet

Ubayy ibn Ka’b reported: When a third of the night had passed, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stood up and he said, “O people, remember Allah, remember Allah! The shock is coming, followed by the second blast, and death is coming along with it.” Ubayy said, “O Messenger of Allah, I send blessings upon you often. How many of my (voluntary) prayers should be for blessings upon you?” The Prophet said, “As much as you wish.” Ubayy said, “A fourth?” The Prophet said, “As you wish, but more is better for you.” Ubayy said, “A half?” The Prophet said, “As you wish, but more is better for you.” Ubayy said, “Two-thirds?” The Prophet said, “As you wish, but more is better for you.” Ubayy said, “Should I say all of my prayers for you?” The Prophet said, “If so, your needs will be sufficed and your sins will be forgiven.”
