Hadith on Shaytan: Do not respond to insults like the Devil

‘Iyad ibn Himar reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, what do you think of a man who insults me in a gathering beneath me, so I reciprocate him. Is there any blame on me?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Two people who insult each other are like two devils accusing and denouncing each other.”
