Khalid ibn ‘Urfutah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me, “O Khalid, after me there will be affairs, civil wars, and conflicts. If you can be like the servant of Allah, Abel, who was killed but did not kill, then do so.”

عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عُرْفُطَةَ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا خَالِدُ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي أَحْدَاثٌ وَفِتَنٌ وَاخْتِلَافٌ فَإِنْ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَكُونَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ يعني هابيل الْمَقْتُولَ لَا الْقَاتِلَ فَافْعَلْ
