Hadith on Religion: Fate of Jews, Christians, non-Muslims before Islam

Salman al-Farisi reported: I asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about the people of religion who had been with me, mentioning their prayers and acts of worship. Then, Allah revealed the verse, “Verily, those who have faith, those who are Jewish, Christian, or Sabians, whoever believed in Allah and the Last Day and worked righteousness will have their reward with their Lord and they will not fear nor grieve.” (2:62)
