Ibn Mas’ud on Wisdom: Fear of Allah is beginning of wisdom

Abu ‘Iyas reported: Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, would say in his sermons, “The best provision is mindfulness of Allah (al-taqwa), and the foundation of wisdom is the fear of Allah Almighty.”
