Anas ibn Malik reported: When the caller to prayer announced the prayer, people among the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would stand and proceed to the pillars of the mosque until the Prophet came out to them. Thus, they would pray two cycles before sunset prayer, for there was not much time between the announcement and performance of prayer.
