Hadith on Fasting: Sniff water deep in the nose unless fasting

Laqit ibn Sabirah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me about ablution.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Perform ablution well, clean the base of your fingers, and sniff water deep into your nose, unless you are fasting.”

Al-Tirmidhi said, “The people of knowledge disapproved for a fasting person to sniff water deeply into the nose and they considered it as breaking his fast.”
