Hadith on Zakat: No charity is due on minimum amounts

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No charity is due on less than five bundles of dates, nor less than five camels, nor less than five ounces of silver.”

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَيْسَ فِيمَا أَقَلُّ مِنْ خَمْسَةِ أَوْسُقٍ صَدَقَةٌ وَلَا فِي أَقَلَّ مِنْ خَمْسَةٍ مِنْ الْإِبِلِ الذَّوْدِ صَدَقَةٌ وَلَا فِي أَقَلَّ مِنْ خَمْسِ أَوَاقٍ مِنْ الْوَرِقِ صَدَقَةٌ
