Hadith on Ihram: Clothing for men and women at pilgrimage

Abdullah ibn Umar reported: A man stood up and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, what should I wear to prepare for the pilgrimage?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Do not wear a shirt, or pants, or turban, or a hooded cloak. If someone has no shoes, he may wear leather socks if they are cut lower than his ankles. Do not wear any perfume or fragrance. The woman prepared for pilgrimage should not cover her face or wear gloves.”
