Abu Musa reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah looks down in middle night of Sha’ban and He forgives all of His creatures, except for an idolater or one carrying hostility.”

Grade: Hasan (fair) according to Al-Albani
Imam al-San’ani commented, “The ‘one carrying hostility’ means carrying malice. Some have explained it as referring to the people of heretical innovations who break away from the united community, but that is not the linguistic meaning, unless they were hostile and malicious.”
