Hadith on Eid: Seven and five Takbir in Eid prayer

‘Amr ibn ‘Awf reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would pronounce takbir during the Eid prayer seven times before the recitation in the first cycle, and five times before the recitation in the second cycle.

Al-Tirmidhi said, “This tradition is acted upon by some of the people of knowledge among the companions of the Prophet and others.”
