Ibn Taymiyyah reported: Hasan al-Basri, may Allah be pleased with him, would say, “Verily, the tyrant Al-Hajjaj is a punishment from Allah, so do not repel the punishment of Allah with your hands. Rather, you must be humble and submissive.”
