Muhammad ibn Hamid reported: I asked Abu Bakr Al-Warraq, “Teach me something that will bring me closer to people.” Abu Bakr said, “As for what brings you closer to Allah, then continue to ask him. As for what brings you closer to people, then stop asking from them.”
