Ibn Umar reported: We withheld ourselves from seeking forgiveness for people of major sins until we heard our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say, “Verily, I have delayed my intercession for the people of major sins among my nation for the Day of Resurrection.” Ibn Umar said, “Thus, we restrained much of what was in ourselves and we had hope for them.”
