Ibn Hammad reported: Mu’adh ibn Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “A servant will not reach the heights of faith until humility is more beloved to him than nobility, until less in the world is more beloved to him than more, until it is the same whether he is loved or hated for the truth, and until he judges people the way he would love to be judged for himself and his household.”
