Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib reported: Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “There is no better response to those who disobey Allah with respect to you than to obey Allah with respect to them. You must adhere to the truth, even if the truth kills you.”

عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ مَا كَافَأْتَ مَنْ يَعْصِي اللَّهَ فِيكَ بِمِثْلِ أَنْ تُطِيعَ اللَّهَ فِيهِ وَعَلَيْكَ بِالصِّدْقِ وَإِنْ قَتَلَكَ الصِّدْقُ
