Ali on Sabr: Patience to faith like a head to a body

Masruq reported: Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Verily, patience is to faith as the head is to the body. If the head is cut, the body will perish.” Then, Ali raised his voice and he said, “No doubt, there is no faith for one without patience!”
