Ali reported: We were sitting with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “There are none among you but that his place in Paradise or his place in Hellfire are decreed.” We said, “O Messenger of Allah, shall we not depend on this alone?” The Prophet said, “No, you must work, for all will be facilitated.” Then, the Prophet recited the verse, “As for one who gave in charity and was righteous and affirmed the best, We facilitate for him the easy path.” (92:5-7)

عَنْ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام قَالَ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَقَدْ كُتِبَ مَقْعَدُهُ مِنْ الْجَنَّةِ وَمَقْعَدُهُ مِنْ النَّارِ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَفَلَا نَتَّكِلُ قَالَ لَا اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى إِلَى قَوْلِهِ فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى
