Mu’adh ibn Jabal reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent him to a people and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, instruct me.” The Prophet said, “Spread peace, offer food, and be modest before Allah as you would for a man of dignity from your family. If you do a bad deed, follow it with a good deed. Make your character as excellent as you can.”

عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَهُ إِلَى قَوْمٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَوْصِنِي قَالَ أَفْشِ السَّلَامَ وَابْذُلِ الطَّعَامَ وَاسْتَحِ اللَّهَ اسْتِحْيَاءَ رَجُلٍ ذِي هَيْبَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِكِ وَإِذَا أَسَأْتَ فَأَحْسِنْ وَلْتُحْسِنْ خُلُقَكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ
