Abu Dharr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me, “O Abu Dharr, how will you be if your leaders delay the prayer from its proper time, or let it die altogether?” I said, “What do you command me to do?” The Prophet said, “Perform the prayer in its proper time. Then, if you pray with them later, you will be rewarded for a voluntary deed.”

عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا كَانَتْ عَلَيْكَ أُمَرَاءُ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ وَقْتِهَا أَوْ يُمِيتُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ وَقْتِهَا قَالَ قُلْتُ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنِي قَالَ صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتَهَا مَعَهُمْ فَصَلِّ فَإِنَّهَا لَكَ نَافِلَةٌ
