Hadith on Wudu: No renewal of ablution after touching private parts

Talq ibn ‘Ali reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about touching the private area and he said, “Is it not but a piece of flesh, or a part of you?”

Imam al-Tirmidhi commented, “It has been narrated from more than one of the companions and some of the successors that they did not see an obligation to perform ablution after touching the private area; it is the position of the scholars of Al-Kufah and Ibn al-Mubarak.”
