Hadith on Clothing: No harm in garments falling to the ankle

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The garment of a Muslim should be lowered to the middle of the shin, but there is no harm or blame in what is between it and the ankles. Whatever is lower than the ankles is in the Hellfire. Whoever trails his garment in pride, Allah will never look to him.

Al-Azimabadi said, “In this tradition is evidence that it is recommended for the garment of a Muslim man to be lowered midway between the shins, and it is permissible, without being discouraged, to lower it even further to the ankles.”
