‘Amir reported: A man said in front of Al-Mughirah ibn Shu’bah, may Allah be pleased with him, “Allah send blessings upon Muhammad, the seal of the prophets. There is no prophet after him.” Al-Mughirah said, “It is enough for you to say he is the seal of the prophets. We have been told that Jesus, upon him be peace, will come out; he came before him and he will come after him.”

عَنْ عَامِر قَالَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ رضي الله عنه صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدَهُ قَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ حَسْبُك إذَا قُلْت خَاتَمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ فَإِنَّا كُنَّا نُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ عِيسَى عليه السلام خَارِجٌ فَإِنْ هُوَ خَرَجَ فَقَدْ كَانَ قَبْلَهُ وَبَعْدَهُ
