Hadith on Arrogance: Competing with Allah will end in disgrace

Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah Almighty says: Grandeur is My cloak and pride is My garment. Whoever competes with Me in one of these two, I will throw him into the Hellfire.

عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي وَالْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا أَلْقَيْتُهُ فِي النَّارِ
