‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr reported: Aisha, may Allah have pleased with her, would say when she intended to sleep, “O Allah, I ask you for good and true dreams, not false dreams, beneficial and not harmful.” When she said this, they knew that she would not say anything more until she awoke in the morning or in the middle of the night.

عَنْ عُرْوَة بْن الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ إِذَا أَرَادَتِ النَّوْمَ تَقُولُ اللَّـهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ رُؤْيَا صَالِحَةً صَادِقَةً غَيْرَ كَاذِبَةٍ نَـافِعَةً غَيْرَ ضَارَّةٍ وَكَانَتْ إِذَا قَالَتْ هَذَا قَدْ عَرَفُوا أَنَّهَا غَيْرُ مُتَكَلِّمَةٍ بِشَيْءٍ حَتَّى تُصْبِحَ أَوْ تَسْتَيْقِظَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ
