Hadith on Slander: Severe punishment for false accusations

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever accuses someone in his custodianship of a crime and he is innocent of the claim, the accuser will be flogged on the Day of Resurrection, unless it truly is as he claimed.
