Hadith on Nikah: Do not undermine each other’s marriage proposals

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A man must not offer a marriage proposal to a woman if his brother has already done so, nor may he try to outbid the price of his brother. A woman must not be joined in marriage with her paternal aunt, nor her maternal aunt. A woman must not ask for her sister to be divorced to deprive her of what is rightfully hers. Rather, let her get married, for Allah she will only have what Allah has decreed for her.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم قَالَ لَا يَخْطُبُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ وَلَا يَسُومُ عَلَى سَوْمِ أَخِيهِ وَلَا تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا وَلَا عَلَى خَالَتِهَا وَلَا تَسْأَلُ الْمَرْأَةُ طَلَاقَ أُخْتِهَا لِتَكْتَفِئَ صَحْفَتَهَا وَلْتَنْكِحْ فَإِنَّمَا لَهَا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهَا
