Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, visited a sick man among the Muslims and he was so emaciated that he was like thin bird. The Prophet said to him, “Have you supplicated for anything or asked from Allah?” The man said, “Yes. I said: O Allah, as long as I am safe in the Hereafter, hasten my punishment in this world.” The Prophet said, “Glory be to Allah! You cannot withstand it. Why did you not say: O Allah, give us goodness in the world and goodness in the Hereafter and save us from the punishment of the Hellfire (2:201)?” Then, the man supplicated to Allah for it and he was healed.
