Ibn Mas’ud on Tawbah: Two verses to seek forgiveness from Allah

‘Alqamah reported: Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Verily, there are two verses in the Book of Allah, never does a servant commit a sin, recite them both, and seek forgiveness from Allah but that Allah will forgive him. His saying: Those who, if they behave obscenely or wrong themselves, they remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins. Who forgives sins besides Allah? (3:135), and His saying: Whoever does an evil deed or wrongs himself and then seeks forgiveness from Allah, he will surely find Allah to be forgiving and merciful.” (4:110)
