Hadith on Salat: The prayer responds to good or poor performance

‘Ubadah ibn al-Samit reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When a man prays, performs ablution well, and perfects its bowing and prostration, the prayer says: May Allah preserve you as you have preserved me! When he performs his bowing poorly, neither perfecting its bowing nor its prostration, the prayer says: May Allah waste you as you have wasted me!

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Suyuti

عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا صَلَّى الرَّجُلُ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ وَأَتَمَّ رُكُوعَهَا وَسُجُودَهَا قَالَتْ حَفِظَكَ اللَّهُ كَمَا حَفِظْتَنِي وَإِذَا أَسَاءَ رُكُوعَهَا وَلَمْ يُتِمَّ رُكُوعَهَا وَلَا سُجُودَهَا قَالَتْ ضَيَّعَكَ اللَّهُ كَمَا ضَيَّعْتَنِي
