Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recited this verse, “On that day the earth will tell its stories,” (99:4) and he said, “Do you know what are its stories?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Verily, its stories are that it will bear witness against every servant and maidservant to what they did on its surface, saying this person did such on such day. These are its stories.”
