Sahl on Presence: Believers relieved by living the present moment

Al-Sulami reported: It was asked of Sahl ibn Abdullah, may Allah have mercy on him, “When will the soul of the impoverished find rest?” Sahl said, “When the soul does not see a moment other than the present moment in which it is.”

Al-Sulami said, “It is part of virtue that the servant not be concerned with any moment but his present moment.”
