Zayd ibn Aslam reported: Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, performed ablution using the water of a Christian woman, in the jar of a Christian woman.

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Nawawi
Imam al-Shafi’i commented, “There is nothing wrong with performing ablution with the water of an idolater, or what is left over from their ablution, as long as it is known to contain no impurities. For water is clean in itself, wherever it is, unless it is known that impurities have mixed with it.”
