Zayd ibn Thabit reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If Allah were to punish the inhabitants of His heavens and His earth, He would punish them without being unjust to them. If He were to have mercy on them, His mercy is better for them than their deeds. If you were to spend the likes of mount Uhud in gold in the way of Allah, He would not accept it from you until you had faith in all of divine providence, such that you know what you acquire could never miss you, and what you missed you could never acquire, and that if you die upon something other than this, you will enter the Hellfire.”

عَنْ زيْد بْن ثابتٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لوْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عذَّبَ أهْلَ سَمَاوَاتِهِ وأهْلَ أرْضِهِ لَعَذَّبَهُمْ وَهُوَ غيْرُ ظَالِمٍ لَهُمْ وَلَوْ رَحِمَهُمْ لَكَانَتْ رَحْمَتُهُ خيْرًا لَهُمْ مِنْ أَعْمَالِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ لَكَ مِثْلُ جَبَلِ أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا تُنْفِقُهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَا قَبِلَهُ مِنْكَ حتَّى تُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ كُلِّهِ فَتَعْلَمَ أنَّ مَا أَصَابَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَكَ وَمَا أَخْطَأَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَكَ وَأَنَّكَ إِنْ مُتَّ عَلَى غيْرِ هَذَا دَخَلْتَ النَّارَ
