Hadith on Ignorance: Sins excused if one genuinely does not know

Abdullah ibn Abbas reported: A man presented a water-skin filled with wine to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. The Prophet said, “Do you know that Allah has forbidden it?

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Muslim

Imam Ibn ‘Abdul Barr commented, “In this tradition is further evidence that the sin is lifted from one who does not know.”
