Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, entered Mecca on the day of its liberation and there were three hundred and sixty idols around the House. The Prophet thrust his staff at them, saying, “The truth has come and falsehood has passed away. Verily, falsehood will ever pass away (17:81). The truth has come and falsehood can neither create, nor resurrect.” (34:49)

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَكَّةَ يعني يَوْم الْفَتْحِ وَحَوْلَ البَيْتِ سِتُّونَ وَثَلاَثُ مِائَةِ نُصُبٍ فَجَعَلَ يَطْعُنُهَا بِعُودٍ فِي يَدِهِ وَيَقُولُ جَاءَ الحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ البَاطِلُ إِنَّ البَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا جَاءَ الحَقُّ وَمَا يُبْدِئُ البَاطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيدُ
