Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Woe to the Arabs for an evil tribulation approaching like darkest part of the night! A man will wake up as believer but by evening will become an unbeliever. People will sell their religion for some pitiful gains in the world. The one who adheres to his religion on that day will be as if he were grasping a hot coal or a bundle of thorns.”

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَبِ مِنْ شَرٍّ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ فِتَنًا كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ مُؤْمِنًا وَيُمْسِي كَافِرًا يَبِيعُ قَوْمٌ دِينَهُمْ بِعَرَضٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٍ الْمُتَمَسِّكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِدِينِهِ كَالْقَابِضِ عَلَى الْجَمْر أَوْ عَلَى الشَّوْكِ
