Hadith on Hearts: True wealth is not outward, rather in the heart

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Richness does not exist outwardly. Verily, true richness is the richness of the soul. If Allah wills goodness for a servant, He places richness in his soul and righteousness in his heart. If Allah wills harm for a servant, He places poverty between his eyes.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلى الله عَلَيه وسَلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَيْسَ الْغِنَى عَنْ ظَهْرٍ إِنَّمَا الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفْسِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ اللهُ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْرًا جَعَلَ غِنَاهُ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَتُقَاهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ اللهُ بِعَبْدٍ شَرًّا جَعَلَ فَقْرَهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ
